DES FALL FESTIVAL
🐾PAW PRINTS🐾
We are off to a busy and fun start to the school year at Dresden Elementary School! We can't wait to share information about our school this year for Paw Prints!
🐾Kindergarten is learning about shapes, colors, letters, and numbers 1-5. They had a beekeeper come visit with they, and he even brought honey for them to try.
🐾First Grade is learning about addition and subtraction using numbers 1-10. In reading, they are learning about the short "o." They are reading "The Ugly Duckling," and writing their own responses to the text.
🐾Second Grade is learning about odd and even numbers and arrays, which is a way of arranging objects or numbers in rows or columns, typically a rectangular pattern. In reading, they are writing informative paragraphs, making sure they have a main idea and three supporting details.
🐾Third Grade is learning their multiplication facts in math, and they are reading about animal adaptations in their current reading unit.
🐾Fourth Grade is comparing numbers for math class and learning about making inferences. They are also learning about a complete sentence versus a sentence fragment. In science, they are learning about food chains and food webs. In social studies, they are learning about the 13 colonies.
Dresden Elementary is finishing up one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, Mr. Earl sales. The students have worked hard to make sales and have earned some fun prizes along the way!

🐾Kindergarten is starting a new unit with stories that have a message. Math, they are starting subtraction.
🐾1st grade has started unit 6 in reading about mistakes and what they can teach us. In writing, it’s all about opinions! They are using the O.R.E.O. methods to write opinions, reasons, and evidence. In math, exploring number patterns and place value.
🐾2nd grade working on money. Reading, they are working on point of view and summarizing a story using a story map.
🐾3rd grade learning about adjectives, conjunctions, hyperbole, and point of view. Math, learning fractions. Social Studies, learning continents. Science, learning Earth’s spheres.
🐾4th grade learning POV in Reading. Math, learning Equivalent fractions. Science, learning Food webs.
🐾Special Class, Guidance is learning about online safety.
🐾Upcoming dates🐾
🐾1/29- parent teacher conferences 3pm-6pm, no after school daycare.
🐾Please get your skating forms turned in this week.
🐾Dresden youth softball/baseball registration for 2026 season is going on now through February 28th.
