🐾 Kindergarten is finishing up a unit on holidays and celebrations. They are looking forward to talking about weather and the seasons. In math, they are reviewing numbers 11-20. Keep practicing at home for our AimsWeb test in May.
🐾 First Grade is learning about past, present and future in our reading unit. In math, they are working on learning place value. In phonics, they are still working on words with vowel teams.
🐾 Second Grade is learning where ideas for inventions come from and how to identify important details. In math, they are learning place value and how to write numbers in expand and word form.
🐾 Third Grade is starting to learn the 50 States. In math, they are learning to solve problems. Case testing is next week.
🐾 Fourth Grade, in math, they are learning mixed numbers, fractions, and improper fractions.

First Grade – First grade is finishing a unit on technology and learning about how things change. In math, they are counting to 120 by 1’s and 10’s and counting on from a given number. They are also working hard on fluency and decoding every day.
Second Grade- Second grade is learning all about how different points of view can change a story. In math they are wrapping up counting money and starting to learn all about clocks and how to tell time.
Thirds Grade- Third grade just finished learning the continents and oceans and are starting the 50 states. In math they are learning all about fractions. In reading they are learning about the advancements of technology.

🐾 First Grade- Congrats to our 1st graders that made their AR points for this past 6 weeks. In Math we are counting missing numbers. First grade also enjoyed shopping in the Cubs Corner.
🐾 Second Grade- In reading we are learning how a story can change based on who’s telling it. In Math we are learning how to count money.
🐾 Third Grade- We have been practicing identifying a character’s point of view in reading. In Math we are really practicing our multiplication facts.
🐾 Fourth Grade- In Math we are learning to compare fractions.

First grade has been working on long “a” words with mommy “e” at the end. We also just started a new unit on technology at work. In math, we just started our topic on graphs. We are ready for Christmas fun this week.
Second grade is still learning about prefixes and suffixes. We are also learning how to make true equations and continuing to practice addition and subtraction.
Third grade has looked forward to having fun with Christmas activities this week. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
Fourth grade was looking forward to their read day last week.
In Art, Kindergarten is painting their own snowy day collage after listening to the story “The Snowy Day”.

Bethel University’s PA department visited Dresden Middle School 7th graders this week, bringing science to life! The students who had been studying the heart and lungs in their health science classes had the chance to dive deeper with hands-on learning about these organs. Great job as always by Kerri Smith and the PA team for dedicating their time, and career coach Mrs. Mindy Thomas for organizing such an impactful day for the 7th grade!
Schools across Weakley County hosted Veterans Day programs yesterday to honor and celebrate the brave veterans who have selflessly served our country. Each program was a powerful reminder of the courage, dedication, and love for our country that our veterans possess. We appreciate the hard work and planning that goes into each program to both honor our heroes and educate our students on the service and sacrifice of those who risk their lives for our country and the values of democracy. Thank you to our speakers, local veterans, and community participants for being a valued part of such an important day!
