In Kindergarten, we are learning about the letter S. We have started a new unit, “Every Story has Characters”. In Math, we are comparing numbers 0-5.
First grade is busy learning about short o and many “Secret Stories”. We read the story about The Ugly Duckling and retold the main events of the story. We learned the lesson that it is always best to look at the inside of a person versus what’s on the outside. It is OK to be different!
Second grade is learning about two-digit numbers, repeated addition, odd and even numbers, and informative essays.
Third grade is learning about the multiplication distributive property, making inferences, map skills and ALL about animal adaptations 😊
Fourth grade is off to a great start! We are learning about character traits and their actions in Reading. We’re learning rounding in Math and causes of the French and Indian War in Social Studies. Our first field trip will be to Farm Day in Martin on October 4th.
In Guidance, we are learning about peer pressure and being a good friend.
In Art, 3rd and 4th graders are learning about current artist “Dean Russo” and his colorful abstract animals. We are creating our own “cubs” inspired by his work. If you would like to see these wonderful cub creations, they will be on display at the board meeting on October 3rd at 5 pm at Dresden Elementary.
In P.E., Kindergarten and 1st grade are playing musical hoops. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders are playing dodgeball and swamp ball.
Upcoming Dates:
Fall Festival: October 10th 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
